Short-scale thinline hollowbody electric bass from the mid-1960s imported from Japan and sold under the Teisco name echoing Fender’s offset styles with asymmetrical cutaways and waisted body. It featured a 21-fret neck, two pickups, f-shaped sound holes, thumb and finger rests, master volume and tone controls with a three-way rotary switch, and trapeze tailpiece, combining quirky Japanese construction with practical playability that made it a common, affordable instrument during the ’60s guitar boom. Teisco guitars of this period were made before and during the company’s acquisition by Kawai in 1967.
Some signs of use but in remarkable condition for its age. The foam from under the bridge cover has been removed.
