The 1970s Ibanez Black Eagle bass is a rare and flamboyant take on the classic Jazz Bass formula, made in Japan and known for its ornate carved “eagle” pickguard, dramatic f-hole-style cutouts, and intricate inlays. Released around 1975 under the model name 2409B, it featured a maple neck, ash body, and dual single-coil pickups. Though produced in limited numbers, it later gained cult status thanks to high-profile use by Krist Novoselic of Nirvana.
